Post here if you have a technical problem with DS1 or LoA.

1600x1200 screen size

Having put together my latest computer build I have now gotten around to installing DS, in specific the Abstraction setup. But as I was choosing my settings I noticed that the 1600x1200 option was available to pick. So I picked and sure enough the size works fine, in fact in most places I was running around I was getting well over 200fps.

Long ago I had added the 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 sizes to the system_detail.gas file. Though it had never worked before I was lazy and never took it back out as it did not hurt anything. Well now I am using a 8800 Ultra video card and apparently this card lets this size setup work. I am guessing that it may work for the gtx and gts models of the 8800 as well, maybe even some 8600 cards. I may try some other sizes in there as well, as I would prefer to be able to get wide screen views to work (I really am most intrested in 1680x1050). I realize this image is likely to break the page but this is what I was able to do a screenie of:

DS and DSLOA display problems

I have resintly reinstalled DSLOA and when I go to play it all i get is the splash screen and then the screen will freeze for the game. I can still hear sounds from the main game screen but I can't see them. I'v tryed uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times now but I get it to anymore then the splash screen and the sound. Can anyone help me here?

Zone Match may be done/gone

In a thread over at the GPG garage it seems someone was asking about not being able to connect to zm and DragonTeeth12 replied:

I'm pretty sure Microsoft has stopped support for DS and LOA. I believe they've actually shut down ZoneMatch.

I tried zm and couldnt connect either. It may be that it is just down for a day or 2 but this time I am less then hopeful it will return.

Really Strange Text Problem

Okay, gang. Help me out here. The text for my DS1 has randomly changed! It is now blurry and hard to see.

I checked my in-game settings. Nothing is different. I checked the DSVC (Dungeon Siege Video Card) thing, that allows you to select which video card it's running off of. Checked and double-checked that. No change in the strange text. I removed all of the .dsres in my /resources file. No change to the strange text. This problem is very annoying when I can't read the text in NIS' I just made or in Quests. I'd be much obliged if anyone could lend any help. Many thanks.

Edit: I added a pic of what it looked like.

DS Screenshot movie?

By typing "+movie" into the console, you start a movie at 30 fps, but all I get is hundreds of .bmp screenshots...
They are all consecutive and if you view them as a slide show (clicking furiously!), they do form a flowing film, but can these be edited together into a movie?

Has anyone got any tips on the further use of this hidden feature?

- would I need to convert them all to GIF format first, and is there a software program that can blend these images together into a moving film?

EAX

I have never been able to get EAX working right - it will sound okay for a while, but eventually the sound gets very choppy and starts to "reverb" if that makes sense. This is most noticeable when there are a lot of sounds playing at the same time, or within a very short period of time.
I am running a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card on XP with the latest drivers.
I posted this problem on Siegenetwork a long time ago, but nobody was able to come up with a fix.
