joining games

I have DSLOA and have never had any problems with it but now whenever I try to join a game it says the game could not be found, i have uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times and have wiped everything related to DS of my comp and reinstalled and have checked my firewall and even turned it off and is still does not work. Whats going on? :?

That happens to me a lot of times. Just keep looking and eventually your computer will find one that it can connect with. It could also not be found if someone were to close it right as you were about to join in. Wink

I don't really play MP but I do know that mods can effect the games. If you have mods then and the game you are trying to join doesn't then it won't work. Or if the host of the game has mods installed and you don't then they won't work either. Can you host your own game?

Are you able to join any games? And do you use a router?

No. Yes I think I am, but it has worked before and it was hooked up the same way exactly. And at the moment I do not have any mods installed but I do have an edited char.

the edited char is probably what's stopping you
hosts are very strict with the non-mod criterion..

the description of the host's game should tell you what sort of set-up is required..

A editted character would have no effect on joining games, especially on zone match. On the supposed mod preventing LoH you can mod the hell out of a character and still have no trouble joining others.

My guess is the router. There are a few things that need to be set on the router in order to join a game or for anyone to be able to join you.

Upnp needs to be enabled and the necessary ports need to be allowed/opened. Once this is done and you still have issues post back and I have other things on a router that can still be done, but those 2 are the most common and easiest to fix.

Here's a helpful page on DS1 networking setup:

I heard rumors that ZoneMatch is gone for good...?
