i feel so lame

So I've had Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna for a while, though still less than a year. I've always started at Normal difficulty and then soon ended up having to go to Easy mode. A lot of getting killed and reloading and some use of the cheat codes.

Playing around eventually I noticed that leveling happens slower at easy mode, which makes thigns harder.

A month or so ago I started a new game and I resolved to play things a little differently. First, I'd start it in hard mode and only shift into normal mode when I could not progress any further. From there I would stay in normal mode until it was no longer possible to, and then finish the game in easy mode. I also decided that I'd not use pack animals, so that I would have 8 combatents instead of only six or seven.

So I started the game. after a day or so, i'd finally gotten the full team of 8 people and I'd only had to switch down to normal mode once or twice, for especially difficult battles. THen things got hairy for one battle so I used the god mode cheat. A real life matter occurred so I saved the game and did not get back to it for a few days.

I loaded up and suddenly things were working. In hard mode, my carefully selected team of 8 people was tearing though the critters.

"Aha," I said to myself, "my strategy, as well as practice with the game, has paid off."

So I moved along, almost to the end of the game.

Then I discovered something: if you are in god mode and save the game, and then exit, when you next load the game, it continues in god mode! I'd played almost the whole way through in god mode without realizing it. Sad

D'OH!
