Armor not working in DS2BW Adepts

Hi Iryan.
Here is the list and I will update it as things are found or if people will PM me with the armor name and problem.
I am using a female player at present, but will pick up a male character when I encounter one. I have noted that it is not one specific armor type.

Armor List

Hardened Green Chain Mail -- Shows as Black and Yellow
Imperial Plate -- Shows Black and Yellow
Stable Ranger Plate -- Shows Black and Yellow
Cerulean Cleated Leather -- Shows Black and Yellow

These are DS1 armors not standard DS2 armors. Is it both the armor texture and icons that aren't working? Are other DS1 armors working?

It's a little confusing trying to find what's the problem as the DS1 armors now exist in both Adepts and the Legendary Mod. The template names are different between the two mods but they should still work as they are identical in all other aspects, it should only mean that they are twice as common.

So other than that I'm clueless as why there's a problem. I'll make a new version of Adepts and change the template names to the same as in the Legendary Mod and see if that solves the issue. It will mean that any existing armor with the old template names will disappear when you load a game but that will be unavoidable.

Could you please try this version and see if it fixes the problem.

Please note that some of your existing armor will probably disappear and I'm not sure about saved game compatibility. Please make backups just in case.

I did try as many shopkeepers as possible and all the armor appeared correctly. I also changed the store inventories to try to prevent excessive spamming of low level items, especially the Cinbri Assassin Shivs.

Hi Iryan,
The inventory icons for the armor are just fine, and not all the armors of any particular type are messed up. There are at few that I noticed that where DS1 type1 type2 type3 and type4. Those would be DS2 type 6,7,8,9 Those armor types I recognize by site because of how they look on a cat mansion girl.

Iryan some of the armor has been fixed. I ran into a few items that where DS1 type3 and are now DS2 type8 armor. My party 6 is all wearing type 8 armor
Five of the items are just fine the sixth is black and yellow. I looked at the template for type8 style 18 and it appears to be no different than any of the others. I also started to look at the images but again could not find anything amiss. Since my party is made up of elf,dryad,human females with six different skin tones. I will pass the armor around and see if it shows as black and yellow on all. I have run into cases with my own work where a mismatch skin tones can mess things up also I will verify that each type 8 armor has all the skin colors 01,02,03,11,12,13,31,32,33

Party is Two female Rangers, Female Nature Mage and a Half-giant melee

I have found more body armor that is showing as black and yellow. So far I can not find any errors with the templates for any of the following. I will look at the images next. It appears to be a mix of every converted DS1 Armor type. As yet not sure why. Some of the items listed in the blog worked in earlier versions of Adepts. It is possible that it is a mismatch between the image name in the templates and the actual image name. It might have something to do with the armor lookup table. I will keep looking into this.

As much as I tried I can't replicate these errors. The only armor that I found that has an issue is the new animated robes (air, earth, flame and death) as the textures haven't been updated for Adepts yet.

You don't happen to have any old patches still in your resources folder? Even if using the custom folder, any mods in the DS2 resources folder will still appear. Why I ask this question is that the compact brigandine and superior chain don't exist as such in the new versions of Adepts or the Legendary Mod (they do but have been renamed).

Other than that we will probably have to wait until after the next Legendary Mod Beta which is shaping up to a the biggest update for a while (gameplay wise rather than just the addition of more armor and weapons) as it is too hard making comparisons with older superseded versions.

So I do not have any old mods or patches installed in either resource folder.
However I am running a newer verison of Mod-DS1Content-Alpha10 my version is
R and the one you list is Q -- I went back to Q and nothing changed.
I am also running DS2BW_Adepts_Logic_Beta_1q which is a few versions newer than what is listed. Iryan are you running anything newer or older than I list here?

I have been looking at the templates for the armor that I have been having issues with. I compared first the templates
From DS2BW_Adepts_Logic_Beta_1q with DS1_Mod_Content_Beta_23 and could find no templates that had the same name. So there should not be any conflict, and in any case since the files of the Legendary Map Pack have no priority and Adepts has maximum priority anything that existed in both places would be overridden by the Adepts file.

I did note in the gui section of the templates the line equip_slot = es_chest. This line has no bearing on the issue, it is just unnecessary it can be left in, removed or commented out with no change on how the body armor is applied to either a standard character or a cat mansion character. You can take this as fact from someone who has been making body armor for the last ten years regardless
of what any documentation might say.

I looked at a majority of the armor images in both Adepts Resources version H and DS1_Mod_Content_Beta_23 and could not find anything out of place such as missing alpha channels or alpha channels that where the wrong color.

I am going to try a standard character and see what occurs

UPDATE

I ran a standard character in broken world on MyTestWorld and picked up all the armor that was not working with my adepts characters and all of them worked. From this I am forced to believe that the problem exists in Adepts.

Just to make sure that there was nothing in the legendary Map Pack that was causing this I removed all references to DS1 armor from DS1_Mod_Logic_Beta_24 and DS1_Mod_Content_Beta_23. Next I started a game of adepts and discovered that the DS1 armor that I was having issues with where all still there. From this I have to assume that the problem is in fact a problem with Adepts and not the legendary map pack. I could be wrong but it seems to me that if one mod does not contain the offending armor and the other one does then the one that does is broken.

That is to be expected and I did warn that may happen. I changed the template names to try to make the mod more compatible with the Legendary Mod. About 50% of the old armors won't work.

What shouldn't happen is that new armors appearing in the shops or as loot, appear with the black and yellow textures which indicates that the template is working but the defined textures for the armor isn't.

I haven't been able to replicate that error and all I can think of is that I accidentally uploaded the wrong version file. I upload another version as soon as I redo the armor textures for the missing elemental robes.
