Just something funny

The Pope was visiting LA for an interfaith meeting and had to travel to San Francisco for a meeting on Global Warming. So a large black limo showed up at his hotel. The Pope smiled at the limo driver and said, "I have never driven in the United States or driven a limo, would you allow me to drive at least part of the way to San Francisco?" The limo driver said, "Sure you are the Pope so I do not think any thing bad will happen to us." About an hour later a highway patrol helicopter made the following report. There is a large limo going north on Interstate 5 at 135 miles per hour.

Another useful program: for comparing files

I have used a program called " ExamDiff " to compare files and discover differences between them.

Windows 10 updates affect DS2 Cursor

Early this morning, June 16, 2017 windows 10 did it's update thing, and I found I couldn't open DS2 (didn't try DS1). The load screen came up, but there was no cursor. Couldn't open the game. Along with this, my browser settings were skewed. and all my restore points had been deleted.
After trying to fix things for a while, I resorted to a two month old Mirror Image backup of my drives. It took an entire day to get through this, but things are working again. Though it will take me at least another day or two to sort it all out.

Decal display problem in Siege Editor

I have this problem when using the DS2 siege editor (haven't tried DS1 yet).
The decals show through the nodes, walls are invisible where they showing through. When you zoom in close, everything is ok. I have Windows 10 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card. I've tried a few things to fix it, but no luck. Any ideas?

[Added observation] In my post "For NVIDIA Graphics card users" I related a problem I had with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card. This problem likely has to do with that card as well.

Run DS1 and 2 Mod Execs without the CD

I usually run DS and DS2 with the Mod execs. You need the CD to run the Mod exec.s. *** (Not True)*** The problem here is if your CD's are old, a bit scratched, and well used, you really want just put them away in a secure place and not have to use them anymore.
So what I did, in order to preserve the discs was to make ISO Copys. If you make it right, the ISO Copy will be excepted by the game, just as if you are using the CD.

For NVIDIA Graphics card users

When I installed DS2 on my new Windows 10 machine, with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, I found that the Nvdia Control Panel (where you set Anistropic filtering, etc.) did not work properly. It did a great job with the characters and objects, but did not recognize the terrain (nodes). It looked God awful. I did some research and found the Nvidia Profile Inspector.

Run out of space on drive C for your games? .... The Solution

Have you run out of room on drive C for your games? Is your life in need of saving?
What you need is a program called " Link Shell Extension". It's super easy to use, and with it you can move anything ( that can be moved) from anywhere to anywhere, and it will still be found by whatever is looking for it. It does this by creating a 'Symbolic Link" in the place you moved the file from. The link itself has no size, and is only a glorified shortcut.
I moved all my games and most other programs to drive E some time ago and it works seamlessly, I've never had a problem.
