Keeping areas clear

I don't yet have DS1(going to get as soon as I can spare the money) and I was wondering something.

Would it be possible to go to area X, drop off Y number of party members, leave, then have that zone stay clear?

Clear as in an absence of enemies? DS1 does not randomly spawn creatures so once you kill all the ones in a particular area they are gone for good. I am not sure if that is what you are referring to, but that is also the case with any modded maps for DS1 that you would download.

DS2 may be a slightly different case, I have not played it enough to answer with any degree of accuracy. BTW welcome to StheD.

DS2 has respawning monsters, and so does Xaa's LoH (DS1 mod). Otherwise, in DS1, once an area is cleared it should stay cleared. In DS2 there's no way to keep areas clear, and in LoH you need to destroy the corpse (by gibbing it, or using a corpse consuming spell... there are a couple different ones) to prevent it from reappearing.
