Dude, FOUR Gigs of HD space?! That's a ton, and more than the 2 highest games I have ever played, combined. Probably D2 and a 2 gig one(don't remember the name of it), which totals to about 3.5 gigs of HD space.
But it doesn't take much in the realm of processor space, does it? Or ram, for that matter. Use nothing on something, and use it all on another. But I can definitely use it!

Almost the same specs as GTA San Andreas on PC though SA needs a higher graphic card spec

top notch for the ds2 team though, thanks snook for the update

Pretty wimpy requirements. Seems to be falling behind other games. Guess I will have no problem running maxed out.

With the graphics that they have, it is quite an accomplishment.

The DS Engine's main strenght has always been graphics and memory management.

Will my NVDIA GEForce FX 5700 work with DS2? I am hopeless when it comes to video cards.

Don't forget that game developers are always overly optismistic when it comes to system requirements. Yes you often can run games at the minimum system requirements, but at 1-2 frames per second at the lowest possible video settings  . We'll find out for sure once the game's actually released, from the actual net & magazine reviews of finished code and posts to various technical forums at all the Dungeon Siege sites, including this one, about why the game won't run even though I have the recommended system specs! Why there's even been some posts already about the demo! Recommended system specs are set by the publishers not the developers, in order to get as many people as possible to buy the game. I thought everyone knew that ^_^ .

Should eat it alive Laughing out loud .

I guess the answer of how well DS2 will perform on the various system setups found on all the pcs across the world, will depend on how well it's optimized (the original game was released extremely poorly optimized due to the retention of debugging resources Evil ) and the tradeoff between the improved graphics and how much omph they've been able to squeeze out of the ageing 'enhanced' engine. Remember it's not a brand new engine but rather an enhanced version of the original engine, presumably supporting the latest Direct X code and video cards (hopefully none of this 'Unable to find video card entry for your hardware!' rubbish from Siege Editor Evil either ).

Thanks Iryan.

you can run DS2 with these settings but it will go very slow and when your doesn't support shaders2(like my geforce4 Ti 4200) you can't see some of the new graphics...

FireBat

It bowls along quite nicely on my Ti4200 - the FX5700 should look pretty amazing...!!

And as for the size thing - 4Gig is on the big side, but what the heck UT2004 takes up 5.3Gig!!

..everybody knows that size doesn't matter - it's what you do with it that counts!! Insane

Ive been told that im wise in that i surmise that its not the size of the prize but what you do between the thighs and then you realise that even though the body may disguise its the glow within her eyes that gives it all away

Looking at the demo's resource files, one of the main reason for the large installation size is because of the voices & movies. Plus the demo's dsmap is 70 MB in size, which is far larger than the Kingdom of Ehb's & Legends of Aranna(both 47 MB) and not much smaller than the Utraean Peninsula's (92 MB).

Sound files take up a large amount of space, for instance Star Ocean: Till the End of Time comes on two dvd's 8O , basically because all the dialog is spoken.

I did play the demo's on a 64 bit computer with 64 os and it did work good as well. maybe some can use this information as well.

would an MX4400 run it? what about a Radeon 9500?

The Radeon would, not sure about the other but most likely. Even my old 5200 will run it fine so it should.
