How about a thread of general chatting? Maybe we can post things about ourselves to get to know each other better, or just post chatty stuff. So anyway, here are a few things about me: So...tell me about you? BTW, this is the "real" Chatty Cathy forums: |

Happy Thoughts! Happy Thoughts!
Anyways..... Cats are definately my fav.... but I would get a dog if it is something adorable like a poodle or Yorkshire terrier.
People always say that those toy dogs are no good, or are not "real" dogs, but I find them to be just as much of a dog as something larger, also the smaller dogs have longer life spans, so you will get more time with your friend.
I used to have a little dog and he was awesome. I got him on my 16th birthday and sadly had to put him to sleep due to some major health problems a few years ago. So you are correct, TAS; generally speaking little dogs do have a longer life span.
Sometimes those little dogs get a bad reputation because they are associated with wealthy society types who go around with a dog stuck in their purse. But when you get down to it, that isn't the dog's fault, it is the society person's fault.
Some folks also complain that little dogs are yappy and noisy. My Dillon is a fairly large dog and while I love him, he is VERY noisy. So, it really is a subjective matter.

Cats rule!

Giovanna
Yes, Kats rule...Oh, ooops, I see you meant "cats", as in felines. My bad. :P

Haha, well Kats rule as well. And I wouldn't mind having one of those warming my feet. :P

Happy April everybody.

Only a little over 1 hour left here before it is April 2nd. :/
A colleague at work today was just going crazy trying to fool everyone. She had that "It's x-mas"-look in her eyes that some people get. It was very amusing to hear her tell about all her pranks.
yummy, love it! :woot:
-----------------------------
..never mind the weather, just as long as we're together!
I did a few pranks...
One of them that involved placing 50 stuffed animals and a sign that said "We are watching you" around someone who was sleeping, so that they were all staring when they woke up....
I'm glad we're back to the normal colour scheme... the temporary joke one wasn't nearly as nice (IMO) and things were all out of place!
[edit]
I just noticed that user avatars aren't showing up anymore...
[/edit]
One "big" AFD prank that I still remember was seeing a picture of Wayne Gretzky on the front page of the Toronto Star wearing a Maple Leafs uniform (standing next to the owner) with a caption about a trade to the team. A cruel joke (every Leaf fan's dream at the time), but good fun too.
I thought the joke was stupid. Saying something like, "GPG announces DS3" would be better.
Does anybody have a movie recommendation for me? I am supposed to go to a movie Friday and I have no idea what to see...Oh yea, and where did our avatars go?

We did DS3 last year at the forge, so this year it was time for something different. I really don't see why you all are having problems with it. :/
I am not sure who "you all" is supposed to be referring to. This is the summation of what I had to say about it, in addition to what I said about humor being subjective and folks not having to agree on what what they find humorous.
While everyone has the right to express their opinion, I DON'T think it is necessary to keep referring to this prank as "stupid". To everybody:
You can take this as an opinion from your friend Kathy or you can take it as a pronouncement from mean ol' cranky Kathy. The choice is yours. Whether or not you agree with this joke is your right, but keep in mind that old saying..."you can not please everybody all the time, if you try you end up pleasing nobody".

Avatars are back. I had to chase them down and since I am an old fart now-a-days it took some time..
You, old? Nah....;) (if you are old, then I must be ancient....)

Lol, I really don't like pranks, but that is actually kind of funny. Of course I would freak out if that happened to me. (luckily, I don't own 50 stuffed animals)

Yea, I loved that prank as well. Pure genius.
Oh yea, so what about a movie for me? Ideas anybody?

I haven't been out to a movie in quite a while, but a couple recent releases don't sound too bad ("300" looks cool... to me). It all depends on what kind of movies you like Kathy (and who you're going with). Perhaps watching some trailers will help:

I will check those trailers out, thanks Sharkull. I guess I like spooky kind of movies, or something mysterious. Comedy is always good, and I confess I do have a penchant for romantic comedies. Nothing about froggies though...
*edit* Looking through those, I saw a trailer for The Last Mimzy and that is playing at the theatre near me. Thanks again.

Spooky, mysterious, and romantic: Ghost Rider.

Giovanna
Ghostrider...Is that the one with Nicholas Cage?

It looks like solly is busy keeping people from naming their babies whatever they want to in Sweden. http://www.startribune.com/484/story/1097979.html

Thanks for the info, Giovanna. Maybe I will do a double header and see two movies. I used to do stuff like that years ago, when I had a day off and not much else going on to do.
Now about those crazy Swedes...
Yes, I imagine most infants know what they want.
I want food!
I want to sleep!
I don't want a bath!
Waah!
Honestly, Metallica isn't any worse than what some American celebrities are naming their kids...Apple, Pilot, Phineas (yea, I caught a few minutes of "biggest celebrity oops" on the E channel the other day.)

Yea yea. I'm trying to make it so that no one but me from no on will be able to use that name on their children.
A fellow member at my lit forum posted some pictures of his trip to Africa. They are very beautiful, and I was tempted to post them here, but that wouldn't be right. There are some of elephants, lizards, monkeys and just breathtaking scenery too. You can view the post and see them by going here:

Solly, you may be interested to know the person is from Eskituna, Sweden. (hope I spelled that corerctly).
*edit*
Oh oops, the ones of the lizard must be in another post that person did.

Close, "Eskilstuna". One of my best friends are from there.
Maybe she knows this guy.
