Chatty Kathy's

How about a thread of general chatting? Maybe we can post things about ourselves to get to know each other better, or just post chatty stuff. So anyway, here are a few things about me:
My name is Kathleen.
I am in my late 30's.
I am 5 foot 2 inches.
I have dark brown curly hair that is to the middle of my back.
I like to read and write and play Dungeon Siege.
I like to post in forums.
My favorite pizza is mushroom

So...tell me about you? Smile

BTW, this is the "real" Chatty Cathy

Loup_Ombrage's picture

Its sort of a scifi and sort of religious, and has many refernces to various passages in the Bible. It also sort of deals with "end time" events- a plague wiping out billions, nuclear war, and so on- but, realistically, mankind recovers, sort of, for both (only one country is heavily hit in the war). I can't remember the author at the moment, but if I find it at the library or the next book in the trilogy I'll post the author.

kathy the reason might be:
the character is coded like

[t:template,n:base_farmgirl]
{
  doc = "Farm girl base template";
  specializes = hero;
  [actor]
  {
    portrait_icon=b_gui_ig_i_ic_c_fg_a_01;
    is_male = false;
    race = female;
    [skills]
    {
      strength   =  0, 0, 10;
      intelligence   =   0, 0, 10;
      dexterity  =   0, 0, 10;
      Female    =  0, 0, 1;
    }
  }

And the armor has this code
[equip_limit]
	{
		race_match = female;
	}
	[gui]
	{
		equip_requirements = Female:1;

however it could also be something else and without a list of the mods you are currently using I am not really sure

:chase:

Get those shoes laced, Lili! :P

Loup, check the size guidline for sigs that Sharkull made (in the locked sig thread). I am assuming it is a jpeg that you are using.

You can always use an image editor to alter the proprtions. It will still look fine as long as you aren't changing them too much. I use Irfanview, it works well and is free.

The image is 400x100, it just seems to have shrunk somewhere between the image host and here. I'll try again....

EDIT: I finally got it working!

Very good. Maybe you selected the thumbnail code instead of the regular img link from your image host.

the best way to do it, Loup - is to make a frame of the exact dimensions as per the rules..
and then resize your picture (- or pictures!) into it..

it's quite an art form actually - but make your own..
don't get a ready-made one - that's cheating!!

(..and there's a dash in every line - must dash!! Wink )

The program I used allows you to pre-set the exact width and height Wink
Unfortunately I don't have it here at home and only have it at school.
It did have all these warnings about different resolutions and some such, so...

Sunday again. Funny how certain days just come around every 7 days or so.... :P

So I read on the shoutbox that Sharkull went to a family occasion yesterday, and Loup is back in school making graphics Wink

What are some of you folks up to this lovely Sunday in August? Me, I m going to go outside in a little while becasue the weather is PERFECT. Laughing out loud

*edit*

Ok, I am back inside now and I have a stupid n00b question... :oops:
If anyone has played TE3 Morrowind? If so, I would really like to make it 3rd person perspective, but don't know how. The game website says I can do it with the "click of a button" but they neglect to say which one. Any tips on mod installation would also be appreciated. DS mods seem so easy to install!

it's one of the programmable "hotkeys" in the options screen - I usually set mine to the middle button - if you hold it down you can spin the camera round your character, even whilst he/she/it's moving - useful for keeping an eye-out when you're in a dangerous area..

..the mods usually come with a readme - just a matter of dropping them into the required folders as instructed.. then enabling them via the start screen..

Thank you Blondin, I will check the options menu for that hotkey thing. I read the read me's for the mods ( I downloaded 3) and I followed what they said to do, but I am not sure if I did it correctly ( I did select plugins in the data files and all that stuff) I guess I will play around with it some more and see what happens. Smile

By default the button is tab.

I would also reccomend downloading Better Bodies and World of Faces (everyone says Better Heads, but WoF is better IMHO- you can, of course, download both of them :P).

Meshes go to /Data Files/Meshes, textures go to textures, etc. Any base files should go to Data Files, usually- always read the readme Wink

EDIT: I would recommend joining The Elder Scrolls Forums and Planet Elder Scrolls. I use the same username on both (but I only use the Elder Scrolls forums and lurk on PES).

Well, I downloaded Better Bodies and a couple of other ones in the last few days. Since a picture is worth a 1000 words, here is what I did based on what I understood the readme's to tell me. (click on the image to expand)

This is the meshes folder...I kept everything in it's own folder. Is that right?

Main data files folder.

I will look into that face one you mentioned, Loup. I downloaded one that is supposed to add new faces and hairstyles but they don't look any different to me in the character selection screen. And of course, clothes erm, I mean armor *cough* I had to download some armor mods because those are the type of mods I like in Dungeon Siege.

Oh, and yes, I checked off the datafiles that I wanted to load.

*edit* Thanks for the forum info, I will check in to it. Smile

Yes, everything should be in its own folder.

I'm not sure why the one adding new faces and hairstyles didn't work, but did you go through all of the faces etc? Some mods keep the default hair/faces as well.

Probably because I am so forgetful and didn't put the correct folders in. Sometimes I would forget my head if it wasn't already attached to my neck. :roll:
Anyway, I downloaded the world of faces mod last night and I am going to install it. I have been doing a little reading and noticed that instead of making a new character, I should type in "enableracemenu" in the console (but not to do that more than once.) I have not advanced very far so I may just start a new one.

Thanks again for the information Loup and Blondin. Smile

EDIT: nvm

What's happening!? Smile

gripe warning:

I really need to decide what if any classes I am going to take this fall. And of course, my adivisor left to go teach somewhere else, so now I need a new advisor. I need an advisor to sign off on my class choices and give me a pin for online registration. Nobody, but nobody wants to wait around the registrar's office for an hour so online is the best.

Ok, gripe over. Thanks.

Hey Hey.

*koff* I like these threads Smile Some good reading an some not so good, but the general vibe is neat.

Name: Dereck
Age: 2wenty 5ive
Height: 5'11" - 6' depending on my mood
Weight: 200-210lbs? Not sure, but I have gained weight and it makes me sad Sad
Blue eyes, red/dark red hair. My hair being my best feature as every woman I've commented on how they wish they had my colour.
IQ: 0-Infinity and beyond! Again, depends on my mood.
Nationality: Proudly Canadian

Hobbies: Computers, sitting down in front of computers, throwing broken computer parts around and watching how they break, playing console games, throwing game controllers at the floor in fits of fury, building models (cars, aircraft, not boats), biking, eating donuts, lumberjacking, making igloos and dogsledding.

Oh, and I'm told I can be a real smartass at times. I'm very casual and easy going, patience of a saint, I love my sense of homour while others may not, I'm a great listener and while I'm a lone wolf by nature I do enjoy hanging out with the right kind of people. I tend to look at my social life similar to that of the Sims in that I have a very slowly falling social meter and night out usually replenishes my need for human contact.

I'm also a very lazy procrastinator. Sad

Hi Snit

3. 'r banieri i mewn hon baffio gwna 'm chlustiau anafa!
