Fast Times in Tahoe
Elemeno P

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder
But I doubt it, I really doubt it
Playing ping pong over oceans, messing with emotions
Messing with my head
Messing with my head

13 hours ago, I'm no longer at home
Fast times in Tahoe
Three thousand miles away
What can I say
Fast times fast times to fast for me

And I don't care what you say
To get me out of the way
I've got to get my message through to you

baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder
But I doubt it, I really doubt it
Playing ping pong over oceans, messing with emotions
Messing with my head

And I don't care what you say
To get me out of the way
I've got to get my message through to you

baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

Fast times in Tahoe
Playing in the Snow
whoa oh oh ooh
Fast times in Tahoe
Playing in the Snow
whoa oh oh ooh

They say, makes the, grow
but I, I really
Playing, over
Messing with
Messing with

Fast times in Tahoe
Playing in the Snow
whoa oh oh ooh

(fast times... etc x3)

Disturbed

Down with the Sickness

Looking at my own reflection,
When suddenly it changes,
Violently it changes!
OH! No, there is no turning back now
You've woken up the demon... in me!!

Get up, come on get down with the sickness!
Get up, come on get down with the sickness!
Get up, come on get down with the sickness!

Widdicombe Fair - Traditional Folk Song

Tom Pearce, Tom Pearce lend me your grey mare
All along, down along, out along lee—
For I want to go down to Widdicombe Fair

REFRAIN
Wi’ Bill Brewer, Jan Stewer, Peter Gurney,
Peter Davey, Dan’l Whiddon, Harry Hawke
Old Uncle Tom Cobleigh and all
Old Uncle Tom Cobleigh and all

And when will I see again my grey mare?
All along, down along, out along lee—
By Friday soon or Saturday noon
(repeat REFRAIN)

Then Friday came and Saturday noon
All along, down along, out along lee—
But Tom Pearce’s mare had not yet trotted home
(repeat REFRAIN)

Tom Pearce he go up to the top o’ the hill
All along, down along, out along lee—
And he seen his ol’ mare down a-making her will
(repeat REFRAIN)

Tom Pearce’s old mare she done took sick and died
All along down along out along lee—
And Tom he sat down on a stone and he cried
(repeat REFRAIN)

But this ain’t the end of this shocking affair
All along down along out along lee—
Nor, though they be dead, of the horrid career
(repeat REFRAIN)

When the wind whistles cold on the moor of a night
All along down along out along lee—
Tom Pearce’s old mare doth appear ghostly white
(repeat REFRAIN)

And all the long night be heard skirling and groans
All along down along out along lee—
From Tom Pearce’s mare and a rattling of bones
(repeat REFRAIN)

BLACK FRIDAY - Steely Dan

When Black Friday comes
I'll stand down by the door
And catch the grey men when they
Dive from the fourteenth floor
When Black Friday comes
I'll collect everything I'm owed
And before my friends find out
I'll be on the road
When Black Friday falls you know it's got to be
Don't let it fall on me
When Black Friday comes
I'll fly down to Muswellbrook
Gonna strike all the big red words
From my little black book
Gonna do just what I please
Gonna wear no socks and shoes
With nothing to do but feed
All the kangaroos
When Black Friday comes I'll be on that hill
You know I will
When Black Friday comes
I'm gonna dig myself a hole
Gonna lay down in it 'til
I satisfy my soul
Gonna let the world pass by me
The Archbishop's gonna sanctify me
And if he don't come across
I'm gonna let it roll
When Black Friday comes
I'm gonna stake my claim
I'll guess I'll change my name

Snow Patrol

"Run"
I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done

And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbye
I nearly do

Light up...

Slower slower
We don't have time for that
All I want is to find an easier way
To get out of our little heads

Have heart my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Chocolate"

This could be the very minute
I'm aware I'm alive
All these places feel like home

With a name I'd never chosen
I can make my first steps
As a child of 25

This is the straw, final straw in the
Roof of my mouth as I lie to you
Just because I'm sorry doesn't mean
I didn't enjoy it at the time

You're the only thing that I love
It scares me more every day
On my knees I think clearer

Goodness knows I saw it coming
Or at least I'll claim I did
But in truth I'm lost for words

What have I done it's too late for that
What have I become truth is nothing yet
A simple mistake starts the hardest time
I promise I'll do anything you ask...this time

Instant Karma – John Lennon

Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna knock you right on the head,
You better get yourself together,
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead,
What in the world you thinking of,
Laughing in the face of love,
What on earth you tryin' to do,
It's up to you, yeah you.

Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna look you right in the face,
Better get yourself together darlin',
Join the human race,
How in the world you gonna see,
Laughin' at fools like me,
Who on earth d'you think you are,
A super star,
Well, right you are.

Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Well we all shine on,
Ev'ryone come on.

Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna knock you off your feet,
Better recognize your brothers,
Ev'ryone you meet,
Why in the world are we here,
Surely not to live in pain and fear,
Why on earth are you there,
When you're ev'rywhere,
Come and get your share.

Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Yeah we all shine on,
Come on and on and on on on,
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah-.

Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Yeah we all shine on,
On and on and on on and on.

Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Yeah we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.

The Rocky Road to Dublin - Dropkick Murphys

In the merry month of May, From my home I started,
Left the girls of Tuam, Nearly broken hearted,
Saluted father dear, Kissed my darlin' mother,
Drank a pint of beer, My grief and tears to smother,
Then off to reap the corn, And leave where I was born,
I cut a stout blackthorn, To banish ghost and goblin,
In a brand new pair of brogues, I rattled o'er the bogs,
And frightened all the dogs,On the rocky road to Dublin.

One, two, three, four five,
Hunt the hare and turn her
Down the rocky road
And all the ways to Dublin,
Whack-fol-lol-de-ra.

In Mullingar that night, I rested limbs so weary,
Started by daylight, Next mornin' light and airy,
Took a drop of the pure, To keep my heart from sinkin',
That's an Irishman's cure, Whene'er he's on for drinking.
To see the lasses smile, Laughing all the while,
At my curious style, 'Twould set your heart a-bubblin'.
They ax'd if I was hired, The wages I required,
Till I was almost tired, Of the rocky road to Dublin.

In Dublin next arrived, I thought it such a pity,
To be so soon deprived, A view of that fine city.
Then I took a stroll, All among the quality,
My bundle it was stole, In a neat locality;
Something crossed my mind, Then I looked behind;
No bundle could I find, Upon my stick a wobblin'.
Enquirin' for the rogue, They said my Connacht brogue,
Wasn't much in vogue, On the rocky road to Dublin.

From there I got away, My spirits never failin'
Landed on the quay As the ship was sailin';
Captain at me roared, Said that no room had he,
When I jumped aboard, A cabin found for Paddy,
Down among the pigs I played some funny rigs,
Danced some hearty jigs, The water round me bubblin',
When off Holyhead, I wished myself was dead,
Or better far instead, On the rocky road to Dublin.

The boys of Liverpool, When we safely landed,
Called myself a fool; I could no longer stand it;
Blood began to boil, Temper I was losin',
Poor ould Erin's isle They began abusin',
"Hurrah my soul," sez I, My shillelagh I let fly;
Some Galway boys were by, Saw I was a hobble in,
Then with a loud hurray, They joined in the affray.
We quickly cleared the way, For the rocky road to Dublin.

Hey, Lone - that's a rousing song an' no mistake!! Cool

- got any links to the Murphys? Smile

One of the best Irish bands out there, too. I think Rocky Road to Dublin is my favorite - and I'm German, not Irish!

I assume that particular music group don't release their music under a C.C license, or similar, in which case disclosing how to illegally download their work is a breach of site rules.
Please send me a pm if I am wrong about their licensing.

Van Morrison
Brown Eyed Girl Lyrics

Hey where did we go,
Days when the rains came
Down in the hollow,
Playin' a new game,
Laughing and a running hey, hey
Skipping and a jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our hearts a thumpin' and you
My brown eyed girl,
You my brown eyed girl.

Whatever happened
To Tuesday and so slow
Going down the old mine
With a transistor radio
Standing in the sunlight laughing,
Hiding behind a rainbow's wall,
Slipping and sliding
All along the water fall, with you
My brown eyed girl,
You my brown eyed girl.

Do you remember when we used to sing,
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da

So hard to find my way,
Now that I'm all on my own.
I saw you just the other day,
My how you have grown,
Cast my memory back there, Lord
Sometime I'm overcome thinking 'bout
Making love in the green grass
Behind the stadium with you
My brown eyed girl
You my brown eyed girl

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da.

Heh,, Blondin, my ex-husband is from Co. Donegal and the first time he said 'craic' I thought he meant the drug that it sounds like and I was shocked... Laughing out loud but then I figured it out. Smile He is the one that got me listening to Van Morrison.

Van Morrison
It Stoned Me

Half a mile from the county fair
And the rain keep pourin down
Me and billy standin there
With a silver half a crown
Hands are full of a fishin rod
And the tackle on our backs
We just stood there gettin wet
With our backs against the fence

Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Hope it dont rain all day

Chorus:
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like jelly roll
And it stoned me
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like goin home
And it stoned me

Then the rain let up and the sun came up
And we were gettin dry
Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by
So we jumped right in and the driver grinned
And he dropped us up the road
We looked at the swim and we jumped right in
Not to mention fishing poles

Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Let it run all over me

Chorus

On the way back home we sang a song
But our throats were getting dry
Then we saw the man from across the road
With the sunshine in his eyes
Well he lived all alone in his own little home
With a great big gallon jar
There were bottles too, one for me and you
And he said hey! there you are

Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Get it myself from the mountain stream

Chorus

Well, it's a marvellous night for a Moondance.. Cool

I'm Mandy, Fly Me - 10cc

Just like a rollin' stone
I'm outside lookin' in
But if your chance came would you take it
Where on earth do I begin
I'm Mandy fly me

I've often heard her jingle
It's never struck a chord
With a smile as bright as sunshine
She called me through the poster
And welcomed me aboard
She led me she fed me
She read me like a book
But I'm hiding in the small print
Won't you take another look
And take me away
Try me Mandy fly me away

The world was spinning like a ball
And then it wasn't there at all
And as my heart began to fall

I saw her walking on the water
As the sharks were comin' for me
I felt Mandy pull me up give me the kiss of life
Just like the girl in Dr. No No No No

Ah when they pulled me from the wreckage
And her body couldn't be found
Was it in my mind it seems
I had a crazy dream
I told them so but they said no no no no

I found me on a street
And starin' at a wall
If it hadn't have been for Mandy
Her promise up above me
Well I wouldn't be here at all
So if you're travellin' in the sky
Don't be surprised if someone said Hi
I'm Mandy fly me

For Kathy on her b-day.

Kathy's Song
Paul Simon

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and walls.

And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England where my heart lies.

My mind's distracted and diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you're asleep
And kiss you when you start your day.

And as a song I was writing is left undone
I don't know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can't believe
With words that tear and strain to rhyme.

And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I.

Chronic Future - Memories in F Minor

You're the element of surprise that none of us were prepared for
The dead body behind the curtain that we couldn't help but stare towards
This afternoon you were an only child and a friend to me
This evening you're not breathing you're just the seed of a memory

Memories of better days
Turn the pages back to a faded photograph of
Memories of yesterdays
The years'll pass by but they'll never bring me back to you

My memory remembers presently everything from that night
My senses always sensor any awful images or sights
But I didn't get to see through the eyes his poor mother did
I just ask why she had to be the one to discover him

All I ask is a better day
A better way
To carry the weight of you
I sing this song to remember the days
When I wasn't afraid
To carry the weight of you

To the friend that I love who has different roots of blood
You are the earth that makes mud that comes from rain that made the flood
We cycle in and out of what our lives are capable of
And through it all I thank you for teaching me below and above

I had a friend who was way to young to die
I guess death is one of those things some people do to life

Political World - Dylan

We live in a political world,
Love don't have any place.
We're living in times where men commit crimes
And crime don't have a face

We live in a political world,
Icicles hanging down,
Wedding bells ring and angels sing,
clouds cover up the ground.

We live in a political world,
Wisdom is thrown into jail,
It rots in a cell, is misguided as hell
Leaving no one to pick up a trail.

We live in a political world
Where mercy walks the plank,
Life is in mirrors, death disappears
Up the steps into the nearest bank.

We live in a political world
Where courage is a thing of the past
Houses are haunted, children are unwanted
The next day could be your last.

We live in a political world.
The one we can see and can feel
But there's no one to check, it's all a stacked deck,
We all know for sure that it's real.

We live in a political world
In the cities of lonesome fear,
Little by little you turn in the middle
But you're never why you're here.

We live in a political world
Under the microscope,
You can travel anywhere and hang yourself there
You always got more than enough rope.

We live in a political world
Turning and a'thrashing about,
As soon as you're awake, you're trained to take
What looks like the easy way out.

We live in a political world
Where peace is not welcome at all,
It's turned away from the door to wander some more
Or put up against the wall.

We live in a political world
Everything is hers or his,
Climb into the frame and shout God's name
But you're never sure what it is.

Kathy's Song

Thank you sjr, that is a beautiful song.

Puppet Song - The Incredible String Band

Now you may have observed if you walk into a wall
you get a certain sensation of reality
when you take a look through your memory book
you may perceive a certain rhythmic regularity
the crazy things your mind gets up to when you're away
throwing clouds of rain over brightest day

there was once a little man
he worked all day and slept all night
he looked at the sun
it didn't seem bright, it didn't seen right
he wondered did the world go rolling along on its own
or did some spirit move it with a black cat bone
and he set out to find the causes behind
the events in the world
and the seasons of the mind

so he asked his wife about it, and his wife said yes
come back and see me if it's time to know less
you do too much aquestioning of the world at large
everybody knows the politician's in charge

so he went to the Kinghouse just the next day
to see that politician with his hair dyed grey
jump down turn around blow you up or kiss the ground
trying to be the president of the land so gay
he had false pretendies, I had to love his style
bound to make some havoc with that violin smile
hey, Salvador Dali, make a walking talking something
you paint some freaky pictures, make a likeness of that man
muchos dollars if you can

so the little man asked the politician who makes the plan
who makes the plan, what happens to me
and who has the key

now you are asking me who makes the scene
his highness King Gold and Madam Silver his queen
they keep it all arustling with the dollars and pounds
and everyone knows that money makes the world go round

so the little man asked King Gold and Madam Silver
come tell me what you can
and King Gold said, lifting his golden voice from his golden bed

now money is something, it's a basic flow
and me I am the archetype of jewels and dough
I do a lot of talking both slow and fast
but me make decisions, no of course it's the past
for the past is something, we all have some
and universal history is a bundle of fun
now I'm getting sleepy, starting to nod
if you want to check the picture, want to check the picture
want to check it, check it with God

so the little man climbed up on a rickety ladder, to the heavenly lands
and he shed a tear, 'it's all so queer and it doesn't seem clear'

now God was sitting easy in a heavenly chair
breathing deep and lazy on the heavenly air
the little man got near him just to get right from wrong
said 'God are you responsible for all that goes on'
God looked up from having a heavenly think
he gave that little questioner a heavenly wink, saying

'men have coloured me with the colours of their minds
so I find
they used me as an excuse for all kinds of goofs
and for crimes of all kinds
all your so hard facts painted thinly on the void
why were you not more pleasantly employed
anything you want to do, I'm happy if you make it go right
and it's true if it makes you happy you know it makes the
world more bright
and you shall have liberty
it always was yours anyway
you're one of my kind, you're an infinite mind
you make each new day
there's nothing more I can say'

Makes me think twice about how I look at things and how I feel about them...

NICKELBACK LYRICS

"Believe It Or Not"

Believe it or not, everyone have things that they hide
Believe it or not, everyone keeps most things inside
Believe it or not, everyone, believe in something above
Believe it or not, everyone, need to feel loved

Feel loved, but we don't, and we don't
Until we figure out, could someone deliver us?
And send us some kind of sign, so close to giving up
Coz faith is so hard to find
But you don't, and you won't, until we figure out

I've seen it a lot
Every time to the world turns upside down
Believe it or not, everyone
Most of us feel like we're losing ground
Believe it or not, everyone, hate admitting fear
Believe it or not, most of us wanna know why we're here

Why we're here, but we don't and we won't
Until we figure out, Could someone deliver us?
And send us some kind of sign, so close to giving up
Coz faith is so hard to find, someone deliver us?
And send us some kind of sign, so close to giving up
Coz faith is so hard to find
But you don't, and you won't, until we figure out

Most of us have nothing to complain about
Most of us have things we could live without
Everyone need advice on how to get along

Get along; we don't, until we figure out

Believe it or not everyone…

Believe it or not, everyone have things that they hide
Believe it or not, everyone keeps most things inside
Believe it or not, everyone, believe in something above
Believe it or not, everyone, need to feel loved

Feel loved, but we don't, and we don't
Until we figure out, Could someone deliver us?
And send us some kind of sign, so close to giving up
Coz faith is so hard to find, someone deliver us?
And send us some kind of sign, so close to giving up
Coz faith is so hard to find
But you don't, and you won't, until we figure out

Believe - Cher

(after love after love...)
No matter how hard I try
You keep pushing me aside
And I cant break trough
Theres no talking to you
Its so sad that youre leaving
It takes time to believe it
But after all said and done
Youre gonna be the lonely one, ooh

Do you believe in love after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no
Do you believe in love after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no

What am I supposed to do
Sit around and wait for you
Well I cant do that
And theres no turning back
I need time to move on
I need love to feel strong
cos Ive had time to think it trough
And maybe Im too good for you, ooh

Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no

But I know that Ill get trough this
cos I know that I am strong
I dont need you anymore, I dont need you anymore
I dont need you anymore, no I dont need you anymore

Do you believe in love after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no
Do you believe in love after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no

Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really dont think youre strong enough, no

I guess I am not really sure why people just post a whole song for no apparent reason. I would think that if one is posting a songs lyrics they would be posting why they are quoting the whole song or some verses from the song. If you want to post a whole song for no reason I posted the above links and you can find just about any song. Maybe people are posting songs they like but I would think it would be done with why you like the song and want to share it with others, kinda pointless otherwise.

If you want to post a whole song for no reason I posted the above links and you can find just about any song. Maybe people are posting songs they like but I would think it would be done with why you like the song and want to share it with others, kinda pointless otherwise.

That is what I think, I just post songs because that is what everyone else is doing in this thread. To me, it is just wasting space, and is almost like pointless spam.

I've only shared lyrics of songs I like... and I don't see any problems with people doing that (as long as the lyrics themselves don't violate any forum rules...). Not everyone has fun in the same way, so if you don't like this thread you can always ignore it. Smile

You may not get eaten, just get a bite taken out of your ass!

From my first post in this topic, I couldn't log in at the time so I'l just say what i wanted to put in the edit.

Metallica - I Disappear
- It reminds me of how when I'm with my friends, I always end up getting wasted or real ****** up and end up doing something really stupid that pisses everybody off. When everybody is finally forgetting about it, I do something else and the cycle starts all over again.

Chronic Future - Memories in F Minor
- It's not a perfect fit, the way I can relate to this song... Last summer, my Best Friend Jeremy was with his 'rents in their new Jeep Liberty on their way from Colorado to California for his Mom's aunt's funeral...
She was driving and a gust of wind pushed the car into the left lane. She overcorrected and the car flipped and rolled six times.. She was killed instantly. He called me as soon as he got to the Hospital. He started crying saying he had seen his Mother's brains splattered on the highway...
I've always tried to be there for him, through everything; I'd kill for him, he's like a brother to me. But he's never been the same since, neither of us have...

Layla
Eric Clapton

What'll you do when you get lonely
And nobody's waiting by your side?
You've been running and hiding much too long.
You know it's just your foolish pride.

Chorus:
Layla, you've got me on my knees.
Layla, I'm begging, darling please.
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.

Chorus

Let's make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane.
Please don't say we'll never find a way
And tell me all my love's in vain.

Chorus

Chorus

It also includes a nice guitar solo that I like to kid myself I could learn to play.

TLC: I wouldn't run out and buy their albums, but they have some good songs. This is one about physical appearence.

Artist: TLC
Song: Unpretty

Left eye:
Find the reflection you see to be so damn unpretty
Find the reflection you see to be so damn unpretty

T-boz:
I wish I could tie you up in my shoes
Make you feel unpretty too
I was told I was beautiful
But what does that mean to you
Look into the mirror who’s inside there
The one with the long hair
Same old me again today (yeah)

Chilli:
My outsides look cool
My insides are blue
Everytime I think I’m through
It’s because of you
I’ve tried different ways
But it’s all the same
At the end of the day
I have myself to blame
I’m just trippin’

Chorus:
T-boz & chilli:
You can buy your hair if it won’t grow
You can fix your nose if he says so
You can buy all the make-up that mac can make
But if you can’t look inside you
Find out who am i, too
Be in a position to make me feel so damn unpretty

Left eye:
Find the reflection you see to be so damn unpretty

T-boz & chilli:
Never insecure until I met you
Now I’m in stupid
I used to be so cute to me
Just a little bit skinny
Why do I look to all these things
To keep you happy
Maybe get rid of you
And then I’ll get back to me (hey)

Chilli:
My outsides look cool
My insides are blue
Everytime I think I’m through
It’s because of you
I’ve tried different ways
But it’s all the same
At the end of the day
I have myself to blame
I can’t believe I’m trippin’

Chorus

Chorus

Left eye:
As I reflect back on what I’ve used and abused
And detect that I need some clues to get through
To those that accused me of never being true
I’ll lose if I play into this game and never know the rules
So how do I bring out the me nobody sees
The forest for the trees, how ’bout the woman behind the weave
The light from within this life is the only real remedy
Or find the reflection you see to be so damn unpretty

Tlc:
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh (oh)
Find the reflection you see to be so damn unpretty
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh (oh)
Find the reflection you see to be so damn unpretty

Chorus

It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) - Dylan

Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child's balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying.

Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn
Suicide remarks are torn
From the fool's gold mouthpiece
The hollow horn plays wasted words
Proves to warn
That he not busy being born
Is busy dying.

Temptation's page flies out the door
You follow, find yourself at war
Watch waterfalls of pity roar
You feel to moan but unlike before
You discover
That you'd just be
One more person crying.

So don't fear if you hear
A foreign sound to your ear
It's alright, Ma, I'm only sighing.

As some warn victory, some downfall
Private reasons great or small
Can be seen in the eyes of those that call
To make all that should be killed to crawl
While others say don't hate nothing at all
Except hatred.

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred.

While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have
To stand naked.

An' though the rules of the road have been lodged
It's only people's games that you got to dodge
And it's alright, Ma, I can make it.

Advertising signs that con you
Into thinking you're the one
That can do what's never been done
That can win what's never been won
Meantime life outside goes on
All around you.

You lose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks
They really found you.

A question in your nerves is lit
Yet you know there is no answer fit to satisfy
Insure you not to quit
To keep it in your mind and not fergit
That it is not he or she or them or it
That you belong to.

Although the masters make the rules
For the wise men and the fools
I got nothing, Ma, to live up to.

For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
Who despise their jobs, their destinies
Speak jealously of them that are free
Cultivate their flowers to be
Nothing more than something
They invest in.

While some on principles baptized
To strict party platform ties
Social clubs in drag disguise
Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
And then say God bless him.

While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he's in.

But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.

Old lady judges watch people in pairs
Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare
While money doesn't talk, it swears
Obscenity, who really cares
Propaganda, all is phony.

While them that defend what they cannot see
With a killer's pride, security
It blows the minds most bitterly
For them that think death's honesty
Won't fall upon them naturally
Life sometimes
Must get lonely.

My eyes collide head-on with stuffed graveyards
False gods, I scuff
At pettiness which plays so rough
Walk upside-down inside handcuffs
Kick my legs to crash it off
Say okay, I have had enough
What else can you show me?

And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They'd probably put my head in a guillotine
But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.
