Q&A

o_O No one has started this yet? The board's been on for *checks watch* 5 or so hours! What's with this world?

Thanks to Wizardo55 for the last SiegeTheDay one!

Well, now, who wants to start *in announcer voice* ANOTHER QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS BOARD? Cool (that was a question BTW)

A: I think I am mostly looking forward to more sun and warmer weather. That will lift the spirits of mostly everyone around here which is a really nice thing to see.

Q: What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you so far this month?

I ate some pizza the other night. Feel the excitement! Wink

Did anything weird happen to you on Friday the 13th?

Weird? No, it was pretty much a routine day for me.

Besides the Dungeon Siege franchise, what's your favorite game (or sport... not limited to computer games)?

Templarian Arch Sorcerer's picture

The Half-Life series, Half-Life 2 especially..... The physics and graphics in that game are excellent.

Q: What is the most expensive program that you have ever purchased?

Sharkull's picture

Probably an OS upgrade... Win98 for a previously Win95 machine, or WinXP for a previously WinME machine. I can't think of any more expensive SW that I've bought separately (i.e. not including SW packaged with a PC purchase, which is impossible to cost properly).

What's the most expensive anything you've ever bought?
(For me it would be a car).

That would be a house. I don't have a wife, and nothing is more expensive than one of those! 3DS MAX was expensive, but I didn't (quite) need a mortgage for that.

So what was the best bargain you ever got? (Hopefully that car, Sharkull!)

Templarian Arch Sorcerer's picture

A dell AXIM pocketPC worth $300 on ebay for $110, quite nice for the price.
(the most expensive software for me is Wolfram Mathematica)

What is your most expensive article of clothing?

Sharkull's picture

A really nice, 3/4 length, leather coat.

What is your favorite article of clothing?

Sharkull's picture

To answer my own question: except for the jacket already mentioned, probably a good pair of jeans.

Do you have anything you're looking forward to this summer (the weather, a vacation, time in the sun...)?

volkan's picture

A: I'm looking forward to SSI and a real life again.

Q: Why do you answer yourself. :tease: Wink

Sharkull's picture

Because nobody else did... Sad

Why didn't anyone...?

A.) I was kidnapped by aliens. I'm back now though.

Q.) Who's on first?

volkan's picture

A: Who.

Q: Where are the "Manly" mods for Dungeon Siege.

A.) Out carousing with the members of the He-man woman hater's club. (remember the Little Rascals?)

Q.) Why do Grapenuts contain neither grapes nor nuts?

A: To reduce usage of toilet paper. Wink

Q: Whatever happened to the "Transylvania Twist"?

(Let's see if any other than me are old enough to get the correct answer, song lyric from late 60s/early 70s)

Sharkull's picture

It's now the Monster Mash... (I'm not old enough to have been around for this one in the beginning, but I had heard of it, and Google confirms my guess). Smile

What's the first thing you did to earn some money (from someone other than your parents)?

volkan's picture

Yes!! That is the correct answer :dance3:

A: 12 years old, walking the bean fields, cutting the corn out.

Q: What did you buy with your first "earned" money?

A. Some armor and a better weapon than the knife. (wait a minute, that was the game answer, wasn't it?)

Q. What did you spend your first earnings on *in real life*?

Templarian Arch Sorcerer's picture

A: An external hard drive, 250GB for all of my junk. Smile

Q: How would you fill 250GB?

volkan's picture

A: I would fill it with games/mods/modding tools.

Q: How old were you when you first developed an interest in the opposite sex?

Templarian Arch Sorcerer's picture

A: Hmmmmm..... I believe I was about 11, athough it wasn't the opposite sex, it was the... *cough* ... same ....

Q: Does anybody have a problem with that? Wink

volkan's picture

A: Not me. It's your choice.

Q: What was the make/model of your first vehicle?

Sharkull's picture

1977 Mercury Marquis (looked like the one in the "Third generation" picture, but mine was blue) a hand-me-down from my father. It was affectionately known as the "land yacht" (it was so big and heavy, it kind of floated smoothly down the road). Smile

What are the most important features to you, when considering a vehicle purchase?

A. Lightness, handling (and fuel efficiency, which results from the lightness). I drive a Lotus.

Q. Do you prefer a "safe" big vehicle, or a "sporty" small one? (Real life or game)

Dungeon Raider

Templarian Arch Sorcerer's picture

A: I don't know about real life yet..... but in game, I prefer a "sporty" car, such as the (In)famous "Cheetah" from GTA...

Q: Hypothetically, what would you do if you won a Bugatti Veyron? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugatti_Veyron

Sharkull's picture

Sell it, for three reasons.
1. It's too much car for my driving needs (complete overkill).
2. I can think of better things to use such cash on...
3. I could never afford the insurance! :P

What's your absolutly ultimate dream car?

A. Even if it is a Dodge, the flying car from the latest Fantastic 4 movie would be great, especially if has a Jessica Alba in the back seat.

Q. What would you do with Jessica Alba in the back seat? (most of Sharkull's points seem to apply here, too!)

[answer]
for the first hour I'd probbly bore the poor girl to death
with endless streams of nonsense about astronomy, astrology
and the art of motorcycle maintenance - then we'd dance..
cheek to cheek as Steely Dan played soft and low, in the moonlight..

- later we would dine in the Ritz bar at a back table
wih the lights down low as we gazed out on the night
we'd muse on the subject of life's sweet delights, and laugh..

- ha, ha! :woot:

[question]
- what music are you listening to right now?

..never mind the weather, just as long as we're together!

A. Restless Gypsy: W.A.S.P.

Q. A train leaves Chicago at 3pm and a train leaves Atlanta at 3:45pm, each makes a stop every 13 minutes picking up the same number of passengers as get off except every other stop where they pick up 2 times as many minus 8, and every 5th stop they have a net loss of the total number of passengers divided by 3 and minus 6. Which video card should I buy next month when I put together my new computer? (most likely choices are a 8800gtx or a 2900xt, unless something newer comes out)

A. One is never enough. You're getting at least four monitors with the new machine, aren't you?

Q. When do you think that processor cores will displace separate video cards?
