Confused

I'm new to Forums and I have a question. What exactly is the difference between a blog and a forum?

A forum is for discussing a game related something as the topics of the forums imply. Any registered member can post a question, solution or comment about whatever the forum is about.

A Blog on the other hand is more of a personal thing. Where a member can write about anything so long as it does not violate the rules of the site. For example in my blog I might write about my day and what I did. I might ask a question about modding something that I do not think really requires a forum topic. I might post a link to a small mod that I built for someone that again is not important enough for a forum topic.

...or in other terms, the differences are mainly logical / cultural vs. technical (except for the content being located in a different place on the site).
