Hotfix for fades issue in Kingdom of Ehb v1.01

Please note that the mod must be installed in the Dungeon Siege 2 resources folder even if you own Broken World. Unexpected glitches will occur if you don't.

The installer version also includes a number of min-mods and a simple mod manager to enable them, which isn't available if you download the mod as separate modules below.

This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

Please put any comments, suggestions, reports, etc. about user made maps into that thread rather than here. All maps should be fully playable from start to finish but please expect bugs as they are still only alpha versions.

Fedwyr's way vol 1 cannot be acquired because the lever and the elevator leading up to the tower
at the northern gate side tower is unusable and the quest for collecting the books is not even
included in the mod.
I didn't noticed any of the pipes leaking the liquid pollution from the goblin warrens into the
swamp, maybe I'm blind and tired, but that also might not be included in the mod.
With level adjustment mod on the gobbot igniter and the heater does so much damage that even at 80%
fire resistance it drains the health of my characters pretty rapidly. They use the spell effect of
the Blazewing which does fire damage, can confirm that I resist it much better, so I don't get how
this happened with mobs introduced with the mod.
The elevator right before Gom doesn't come up and down, so I can't finish the Kingdom of Ehb map in
this mod because of my mistake.
So far I played Kingdom of Ehb and LoA in this mod. I might be able to give feedback about other stuff later.

There have been numerous versions of the various files that make up this mod.
1. It would be very helpful if you could list all of the files and their revisions.
2. It would also be useful to know what version of windows you are currently using.
3. Also are you using the retail version of the game or the steam version of the game.
4. If you have the retail version of the game what is the revision that you have installed.
5. Are you using Elys All-Saves or the regular DS2 Start.
6. What is the revision number of The Monster Level Adjust.

The reasons for these questions is that several of the issues you are having have been resolved with updates to various files.

I'm using an old Windows XP SP3
Using the BW 2.3 retail one
Using Ely's All saves, these are the only mods that I'm currently using and all I know is that I used a single installer to enable these mods, but this was the more promising place to ask for help.

Great now look for any updates to the files related to the Legendary Mod (top of the page) and update any of the files in your resource folder to the newer files listed. I can always post the versions that I am using if you wish.

If you mean the tower I think you mean then it is not the one where you are supposed to find the book!

Haven't updated any of the files yet, but there are Weird textures appearing in Eurilan and Solanum, but the main problems appear after a while as long as I don't quit the game and exit to windows:
Can't open inventory and can't switch between characters properly.
Can't drag and drop items, items are automatically contol clicked for me.
Also, the tower that can't be accessed is clearly the one with the guard which have the book.

Update the files as things like weird textures, inventory control issues, and character issues will be corrected. There are other problems that will not be fixed yet but all reported by you will get better. You need the 12 files listed above in section *Here's the links of all required files for the current version 30 Beta

I still say the book for the quest (Kingdom of Ehb) is meant to be got from the guard in Glacern's south tower, the one on the way in not right by a gate (because there's the chasm in between).

Elevators for both south and north towers are of course meant to work automatically when somebody steps aboard and there are the handles top and bottom too (there were problems with those once, I seem to remember).

I wondered, is there an equivalent of the Monster Level Adjustment mod for the first Dungeon Siege ?

As far as I know there is not an equivalent for Dungeon Siege 1. Maybe someone else knows.

I have seen somewhere that there was a mod for DS1 that multiplicate the number of mobs, but it's only an artificial way to increase the experience earned...

The conversion of the DS1 ressources have failed, the game doesn't manage to find the DS1 assets, that's why !

You probably should update the Moddb page. I mean, I guess it's not a super big deal, but It'd be nice.

I haven't had a computer for a loooooonnng time. I've had a kid since the last time I've gotten on here lol. I took a pretty long break, but I'm ready to get back into Dungeon Siege now that I've got this awesome computer rig I've always wanted.

How is everyone!?

By the way, I decided to actually buy Dungeon Siege 2 this time so I got it from Steam and I'm using the Killah fix. I made sure to grab all of the most up-to-date files by scrolling through these pages and making comparisons to the bundled setup file. I also grabbed Iryan's voicesets and I'm extremely impressed! As well, I have Aranna Legacy and it's actually gone a really long way! Big shout out to KillerGremal for the awesome updates Smile
I haven't touched the .ini config file just yet, so far the game is running perfect!

I did find one issue though.

Could this be a Steam glitch? I never saw this before with DS2-specific items in DS1.

lol! It's a Druid Staff though, normally that would just pick up from DS2

EDIT: I just tested this in the normal Dungeon Siege 2 campaign and it seems all druid staffs have this issue. Can anyone test this with the latest version of this mod and Aranna Legacy on a retail copy of DS2: BW? I'm worried that perhaps I may have missed something with installing the Steam Fix.

Looks like the problem was due to Aranna Legacy. I turned it off to see if it would work again and it did lol

So as I was playing the KoE map once more I noticed two enemies just stood in place at these locations--

I remember some time back that these issues seemed to be random and it still seems to be the same, but I wanted to confirm. Is anyone else every now and then seeing this issue. I've only really seen it so far in the Farmlands.

I also noticed when approaching Edgaar that he's supposed to have an "Orange !" above his head to signify starting a secondary quest.

If iryan isn't coming on anytime soon, I may just make a log of these bugs on my computer for when he gets back. I'll also attempt to make the fixes myself if it's within my ability. I really miss testing the Legendary Mod like I used to.

Both of those have attacked me. It's the 3 Krug at the top of the path above Edgar's that just patrol(a previouse couple of posts) I'll make a run to Edgars to look around. The Teleporter was moved but the Radar not updated yet

DrakeIsGod I have not heard from iryan in a while. I think he got a bit burned out with the legendary mod, He did promise to get back to it at some point however. I know he is most likely busy with his family, he has two sons and one of them is under two years old. So with family and work he most likely has little time for Dungeon Siege.

Whew, I know the feeling. I have a son that's a year and 5 months now and that's part of the reason why I was gone for so long lol. I also had my only computer shattered to bits so when I got a new computer I decided I'd get Dungeon Siege again and get back into this mod. However, my schedule is extremely lacking in free time so I can only give a few hours a day now.

I hope iryan isn't having a very hard time.

Hey sigofmugmort1, on your end have you seen whether or not hire-able heroes in Ehb have 3 helms over their head? I haven't seen anybody in Ehb so far that was hire-able with the 3 helms icon over their head.

Also it's odd that you saw the orange exclamation point over Edgaar's head, as on my end he seems to be one of the only characters excluded from it. In Stonebridge, the secondary-quest givers have it above their head so I know it can't just be a texture issue. What version of DS1_Mod_Logic do you have?

EDIT: I'm just trying to find out whether or not what I'm seeing is Steam-related or not.

I found it out! Sadly, it must be another Steam-Aranna Legacy issue. I disabled Aranna Legacy and everything was there again. I also tested this in the original DS2 campaign to see.

Orange "?"'s and the 3 helms icons seem to be affected from what I've seen. Must be more missing textures from Steam.

EDIT: Edgaar's icon needs to be an orange "!" and not an orange "?" as the "!" signifies "Character offers an optional Secondary quest" and the "?" signifies "Character has a Secondary quest update, and you meet the conditions to receive it". So it looks like I found another bug for the KoE map lol.

Sorry for not updating for quite a while though I have been checking the site out as much as possible.

Bare_elf is quite right, RL has swamped me plus I did become a bit burned out with the mod. I have another update planned and hoped to have some time to implement them as I've been on leave for 2 weeks but again RL interfered with my youngest coming down with a fever and requiring me to concentrate on him 100% of the time for the past week.

One thing I will aim to get done is to upload the full mod package for version 33b which doesn't require an installer. This should eliminate any installer problems. I will also aim to upload this to moddb as well. If Square Enix objects I will simply remove the links but I doubt they will as a similar package has been available on Steam for quite a while without as much as a boo. Plus the mod is so much more than a simple port of the old maps from DS1 - if one wants to experience the pure essence of the maps as designed by GPG, they still need to play DS1.

Plus DS2 has aged rather more badly than even some of the older classic games. For instance in the latest update of Windows 10, you can't start the game fullscreen otherwise the cursor disappears (you have to start it in a window and then maximize the window once within the game).

On a positive note, I believe someone has made a german translation of an older beta of the mod on steam (though I've yet to verify this) and I still intend to work on a French translation.

I can't make any promises or even a vague timeline on when or even if any of this will happen (looking at LuciusDXL here with the XL Engine for Daggerfall, Dark Forces, Blood and Outlaws).

Regarding the Windows 10 Creator's Update that did all of this, I found out that rolling back to the previous version of Windows 10 will fix the problem. It takes away the Creator's Update and it still allows you to update your system without issues. I'll be updating to the Creator's Update later on when I hear that the DirectDraw issue has been taken care of.
