LOA_Cat-Glasses_v1

volkan's picture
version:
1

Changes all “type1” gauntlets to “glasses2”. A new gauntlet type by DDLullu that adds glasses to Catmansion (Elfmansion) characters when equipped. New head for Merik without glasses. Requires DS v1.5 (LOA). Includes separate .dsres for Adepts, (If you do not have Adepts by Bare_Elf installed, shame on you)

Change Log:
1. On initial testing realized changing type1 to glasses2 was causing errors with Dwarf, HalfGiant, Skeleton etc. causing textures to be red/black. Thought about different ideas:
• New equip requirements in the formulas.gas/base templates. (Making new equip_requirements of “Catmansion”.
• Asking DDLullu for new meshes for “EVERYBODY” (yikes).
2. Finally realized the least effort/best workaround was to copy/rename “type1” asp to “glasses2” and move to appropriate npc directories. Seems to work fine. (Keeps fingers and toes crossed)
3. Old Merik head was not working correctly with new gauntlet type, so DDLullu made new Merik head without glasses.

Installation Instructions:
1. Place LOA_Cat-Glasses_v1.dsres and if you play with Adepts also the Adepts_Cat-Glasses_v1.dsres file (If Adepts is not installed, see above) into the C: Program Files/Microsoft Games/Dungeon Siege/Resources folder, and alternatively can be placed into the LOA folder.

Uninstall Instructions:
1. Remove LOA_Cat-Glasses_v1.dsres and Adepts_Cat-Glasses_v1.dsres file from the directory where installed, or re-name extension to .off.

Requirements / Compatibility
Requires DSLOA and any Catmansion mod should work (CatmansionPlusPack, Adepts etc.)

Compatibility issues:
• This mod will not work with Witness’ Dark/Light Elves mod as the base folders share the same name as DDLullu’s Elfgirl for Catmansion, and I included support for Elfmansion in the dsres.
• If you find any problems please email me or post a comment in the forums.

It's finished? Hmm.. where are my DS1 CDs..?

Hey PhoeniX,

It is just your pesky elf friend. It would be nice to have Dark Glasses and Regular Glasses for the main character (cat mansion as if you could not already guess by the poster) Would really not be necessary for the other party members be they cat mansion or not. The primary character must look cool.

Elf

I have indeed thought about this.

Unfortunately the glasses use a special gauntlet mesh rather than a head mesh. This was to make the glasses work even while wearing a helmet. Sad

DS2 has "Ornaments" which are supplementary meshes that don't take up a slot on the paper-doll. They get used mainly for collars and epaulets and other decorations to turn standard armor into more elaborate stuff without needing duplicate meshes for the base parts. I've used them for a waitress' tray, etc. Tutorial here.

I can't remember how I implemented shades for Da Boy and Da Goil in the Halloween Special, but I'm sure it wasn't gauntlets.
