I plan on seeing it on the wide-screen.

I'm not expecting much from this movie (in spite of it's decent cast)... considering it's director. If the reviews surprise me then I just might (maybe, perhaps) try and see it before it is broadcast on public television.

I am planning on seeing it on the cinema if they show it here, don't know if it will be on opening day, but I will be there. If they don't show it I'll download it from a site the cinema company operates. Their movies are pretty cheap even if they are new, because of lower quality of course.

I won't bother with the reviews since the critics usually don't share my taste in movies anyway.

And I am prepared to be disappointed, but I am hoping I won't be. ^^

I will see it in the theater and buy the DVD. I agree with Sol that the critics' views probably won't reflect my impression. I'm not sure what to expect in terms of quality. That said, having seen several of Uwe's movies, I expect there to be more gore than necessary, though the storyline will probably be fairly decent, and the cast is very promising.

Do any of y'all watch "Painkiller Jane"?

I have never heard of it. What is it about?

"Painkiller Jane" comes on the SciFi channel on Friday evenings (US time). It stars Kristanna Loken, who played "Rayne" in "Bloodrayne" (one of Uwe Boll's movies). Still in the first season. The premise is that there are people called "Neuros," with what appear to be genetic mutations that allow them to do extraordinary things, and that these supposed genetic mutations also result in criminal tendencies. Consequently, a US government agency has been established to track these "Neuros" down and implant them with a chip that neutralizes both the "genetic mutation" and their antisocial behaviour. Jane Vasco, played by Loken, is part of the team that hunts down "Neuros," but she appears to have some kind of "Neuro" ability herself (she has rapid healing/regeneration). I don't want to give away more of the plot, but suffice it to say that when I wrote that "Neuros" have what appear to be genetic mutations, I intended the ambiguity. Initially in the show, "Neuro" abilities were believed to be the result of genetic mutations, but as the season has progressed, it has been suggested that something else is the cause of those mutations. Whether that turns out to be true or not remains to be seen.

There do not appear to be any spoilers in this Wikipedia article on the show, if you want to find out a bit more without spoilers (the episode list, however, may contain some spoilers):

Anyway, it's an interesting show. It reminds me of the show "Special Unit 2" to some extent, minus the comedy. I mention it because Kristanna Loken is part of the cast in the movie "In the Name of the King."

Sounds good. I like SciFi but that comes with expanded basic and I only get basic cable. Maybe one of these days though.

I've seen commercials for Painkiller Jane, but never seem to be watching TV when it comes on because I haven't checked it out yet (on the Space channel = Canada's Sci-Fi network). With a recommendation I'll take a look at the scheduling to see if I can watch the next episode... Smile
