Adding Bow Firing/Sword Swinging animation to Spell Casting

So for those who remember waaaay back prior to LOA releasing, Jim Tran (Icemage) created a Spell Rebalance patch that I can't find anywhere on the internet. In this mod included some ranged 'spells' that included a bow firing animation that he was somehow able to get working while using a spell from slot 3 or 4 from your character's UI pane in the upper left corner. As we all know in base Dungeon Siege and LOA, the only spell casting animations there are are holding a staff and casting, or 'punching' to cast a spell if a staff isn't equipped.

My questions are as follows:

Does anyone still have a copy of Icemage's Spell Rebalance mod?
Does anyone happen to know how he got the bow animations to show when casting a ranged spell?
Would it be possible to get melee weapon swinging animation for spell casting as well?
Are there any other mods that were able to do this as far as anyone here knows?

Any information the remaining community could give on this would be incredibly helpful!

Ok, so I have no idea whether or not this is the case, BUT, if I remember right, some spells in the base game have different animations, ie, lightray (if I’m remembering right). Now honestly I have no idea if this is the case, as I haven’t played in a while and don’t have it right in front of me. However, if that is the case, looking at those might help. Sorry I don’t have a more concrete answer, but I hope it helps.

Hmm, I'm not sure if this is the mod you want. It is called "Icemage Game rebalance" and it is from 2002.

Also, check your PM inbox. Smile

Forgot to mention that I found that mod in Zhixalmom's mod repository from this thread in the DS1/LoA general discussion, in case anybody it trying to find any other old mods.

Thanks for the upload, kathy! I'll take a look at that mod repo and see if I can mine up anything good!

In my quest to make Frankenstein items I was able to turn a spell into a weapon by changing the magic class to an attack class.
Then added an attack block, and an ac_melee and this caused the item to attack as a sword.
Also told it to fit in the melee weapons slot.
When the spell was first 'equipped' it cast, but afterwords acted only as a sword.
I didn't experiment enough to see how much tweaking this could have.
