do you have a female or male brain?

KT found this test and asked me to take it. I took the test 5 times. Once it said I had a balanced brain, half male and half female. So I took it again 4 more times over 4 days and each time it said I had a male brain. That seems logical since I like sports like football and rugby. KT took the test and each time she took it the test said you either have a female brain or you are a female. So I guess the test is pretty accurate. If you want to take the test to see what it says here is the link.

If you take the test we would like to know your results. Either by posting them here or sending one of us a PM if the result is to scary or embarrassing to post here.

Oh my giddy aunt!, I have A TOTALLY FEMALE BRAIN, this can't be right as I'm a Dungeon Sieger and I kill things for fun. I'm going to leave now and watch a bloodthirsty film with lots of blood and gore in it, or do I watch Mary Poppins again? 0:).

No worries Moros. bare_elf has a TOTALLY MALE BRAIN, could be there is some twisted trick in the test to cause this to happen but we would need a larger number of test subjects Wink

The balanced brain Elf KT

Potatoes have skin, I have skin, therefore I am a potato! I know this does not fit the topic but I like potatoes and skin and did not want to create a new thread. I am also somewhat bored because bare_elf and Jacky are busy trying on each others clothes. Jacky have very good taste in girls clothes, bare_elf well that is debatable.

and a potato has eyes too so you really must be a potato Tongue Wink Big smile

Many of those questions were very limited, rigid and stereotypical in how men and women think and behave. I would have picked all four of the choices provided in question 1 regarding childhood interests, with the caveat that I don't know wtf "Meccano" is supposed to be.

I loved building things with Play-Doh and Lego even though those little Lego pieces hurt like hell if you step on them. I had a Tonka truck and little racing cars with the snap together racing track parts. My sock monkey Melvin and Raggedy Ann still sit on my bookcase. I somehow split Raggedy's face open pretending she was the 6 million dollar man (We can rebuild her! Better, stronger, faster!). Guessing I have one of them there weird type brains. Shock

I know, I know, it's a just for fun quiz so don't mind me. I'm not trying to offend, it's just that I'm feeling cranky and have become annoyed with whomever came up with that quiz.

According to researchers, people have one of three types of brains: male, female, or balanced.

Male brains are hardwired for understanding and building systems while the female brain is hardwired for empathizing with others.

.
This is the study that was referenced in the quiz.

Quote:
It is important to note that we only investigated sex differences in brain structure, so we cannot infer anything about how this relates to behaviour or brain function. Integrating across different levels will be an important goal for future research.

"Hardwired" ? Riiiggghht... Stare

Oh, and Meccano

I agree Kathy nothing is really hardwired. Just hard or impossible to change.

It appears that I don't have a brain, which matches some of those questions very well.

For example, I liked Math, but despised History (as taught in schools), but they were lumped together. So do I choose that for the category I liked, or disliked?

There were also a lot of questions that basically asked "do you like to take charge", to which my answer is usually, "No, but I can (and do) when it's needed." That option was almost always missing.

People having no brains makes zombies very unhappy.

While some quizzes are fun, this one annoyed me, well, because I thought it was annoying. Choices for the questions were too lumped in together, as ghastley noted. Quizzes like that (just for fun quizzes) should stick to fluffy subjects and leave serious topics alone. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I had originally written a huge post about this quiz, but it was way too weighty for 7:30 AM on a Sunday. I probably am a few sandwiches short of a picnic or even just plain strange, so of course I went completely overboard. Shock I even had a reading list suggested!

Mmmm, sandwiches... :P

Look, I'm not trying to convert people's thinking or spouting off about politics or any of that crap. I know that StD is about a video game and is not the correct forum for me to delve into super serious stuff.
