Dungeon Siege Legendary Mod - questions and issues

Hi to all. Smile

I don't know if this is the correct place to do it, but I wanted to report some issues I encountered with the Dungeon Siege Legendary Mod.
And I would like to ask some questions if you allow me. Smile

Questions

Does someone know what is the speed factor of the gremal gun ? Since I get it, I only use it but I can't compare it with bows and crossbows because I don't know its speed factor.

What is the Rune of Mending (english) / Rune de réparation (french)

When you play the Dungeon Siege II adventure after Dungeon Siege and Legends of Aranna adventures, is it possible to achieve the classic characters quests ?
I think about Finala's quest for instance, Zed's quest... Since some modifications were made to previous adventures, I was wondering if it's the same for the Dungeon Siege II adventures.

Issues

I have started a new game right after the first one and I encountered some issues during both of them.

All glittering chests don't open when I click on them, the glittering ceases and nothing happens.

Some town teleporters don't work. During my first game, the Glacern and the Droog teleporters were concerned, this time it's the Fort Kroth's one.
I can't click on it, so I can't reach any other town, except traveling to reach it.

I use the Dungeon Siege Legendary Mod 1.01 + Hotfix with Dungeon Siege 2 retail + 2.20 patch.

PS. I kept my savegames from both of my two games.

Many thanks. Smile

First let me say welcome to our humble home. Second you are posting this in exactly the correct place. I am sure that the authors of the mods you noted will visit and answer your questions.

Many thanks bare_elf. Laughing out loud
Dungeon Siege sweet Dungeon Siege. Big smile

I would like to report another issue I encountered with the Kingdom of Ehb adventure.
Sometimes when I use a town portal and come back to my first location, there is like a fog war behind my group, everything is dark.
It happens randomly but I started the Legends of Aranna adventure and it happens more often and sometimes systematically.
When I use the Arhok teleporter to reach the Halls of the lost, it always happens, clicking on the teleporter to display the list of town teleporters make the fog war disappear.
It happens often if I use a town teleporter from the beginning of the beach.
In fact, this is linked to the animation of the teleportation. I noticed that once the group is teleported, there is like a curtain of shadow which falls on the screen, then the vortex animation starts, and once the group is arrived, the curtain of shadow doesn't always disappear.

When I use the Illicor teleporter to reach the Dark Jungle, I must say this location is aptly named. Wink
The shadow of curtain occurs systematically, but sadly it doesn't disappear, even if walk around. Sad
I tried to lower the resolution of the game, the colour depth and the filter, but nothing changed.
I'll try to adjust some parameters of my GeForce GTX 970.
I still own an old PC with a GeForce 7950 GT, I'll try Legendary mod on too.

You may need a new systemdetail.gas
So follow this link -> http://ds2.bplaced.net/sysdat/

You might also try switching to another party member as the leader and see if they have the same issue.

Elf

What an useful tool, thanks for the link, I did'nt know it.
I tried the systemdetail.gas provided and two versions generated for my graphic card (with different settings) but nothing changed.
When I reach the Dark Jungle, everything is dark (black) behind my group.
When I use the teleporter to reach the Lost Valley, things are different, the shadow's curtain disappears but it seems to be the night, everything is much darker. I thought it was intended but the light comes back after several minuts.

The "Black Curtain" in the jungle has occurred before (on and off around beta19 to beta25) and i think it had to do with the mood or something not loading properly

I do believe you are correct Sigofmugmort, that it has something to do with the mood not being correct, but all my notes from testing the beta versions of the mod are on a hard disk that acts like crispy toast. So I can not get to them or what iryan and I talked about when the problem first showed up.

Elf

When I come back from Illicor to the Underground City after the Dig Site, the black curtain issue occurs systematicaly.
Even if I travel around, the black curtain remains, like when I reach the Dark Jungle teleporter.
I found others glittering chests, but I'm still unable to open them, the glittering stops and nothing happens.
Did someone encounter that issue too ?

When entering the Ruined City, there is a first ziggurat on the left.
On top of it, a glittering chest with skulls on both sides.
When I click on it, it drops items but doesn't open and keeps on glittering.

When I cross a town portal from The Mountain of Death, Demlock's Ravine or Kmethek's Tower to reach the Trader Camp, the black curtain issue affects some members of my group of characters but not all of them. It's a little different this time. Smile

It looks like the LoA map's sets were not implemented as such in the Legendary Mod version. Most if not all the problematic glittering chests are ones meant to contain set items. The one mentioned should have contained the staff from Illicor's Air.

All the glittering chests of the Dungeon Siege part didn't work, except one of the chests in the temple keeped by the Trogs in the rock caves.
When I click on them, the glittering stops and nothing happens.
It seems they contain maps of the locations because I missed many of them the two times I played and I did'nt find them anywhere.
Until now, I have the same problem with the glittering chests of the Legends of Aranna part.
I don't remember which glittering chest worked for this part, dropping a map, but all others didn't.
The exception is this chest on the ziggurat, dropping the Illicor's Air Staff, but not opening and keeping on glittering ! Big smile

I have another question if you allow me, about the rune of repair.
I don't know if this is the correct name in english because my game is a french one.
Does someone know its utility ?

I believe it is from Killergremal's mod that is used in the legendary Mod and is not used. The rune of crafting is used with the Hotfix mod

When you face such problems it would be always interesting to learn where exactly it happened - at least this is usually a good entry point for debugging.

Actually you could open your inventory, put the mouse pointer above any Health potion, then hold down ctrl+Alt keys and left-click on the potion.
The potion label will change then into quite specific location data, and if you would do that with a Mana potion it will tell something about the ambient settings of the potion-dropping party member.

As sigofmugmort1 said, the Rune of Mending (that's the term in English) is not actively used within the Legendary Mod as far as I know (but you possbily may encounter it under some rare circumstances).
However this rune (still) can be quite useful for 'forgotten' side-quests on the official DS2 maps GPG made.

N.B.: Just to mention it once - I'm sorry that I'm such a rare guest here recently. I am quite involved job-wise, also I had a little tooth extraction with some complications and with several dizzy evenings...
Hopefully a can find the mood to spend some time for DS2 in mid-November, when I will have my first holiday week (...after 7 months).

Nice to see you KillerGremal. Smile

I would like to say that the only things which really matter are you, your family, your friends and your job.
So don't worry to be a rare guest.

Thanks for the additional explanations about the Rune of mending.
I encountered it several times during my two game sessions of Kingdom of Ehb and my last session of Legends of Aranna.
Next time I'll buy it to try it ! Laughing out loud

I'll edit my first post to complete it with all the answers every one of you gave me and I'll add the extra informations of the Ctrl Alt shortcuts.
It will be more clear.

Thanks to all.
