I find it very telling to consider what a person values. Human life, freedom of self-determination (including the pursuit of happiness), family, self-improvement, productive ability, self-sufficiency, integrity, consistent morals, superficiality, money (as an end vs. as a means to an end), power, dogma... Each value that a person embraces tells you something about them.
True. I think that you can get a feel for a person based on their values, and also their interests and even hobbies. Why DO we value the things we do? Are some traits innate, or are they soley formed through experience? I tend to think a little of both.
