I guess that answers where the chickens idea came from (for DS1's secret level)... it should have been a mule instead of a horse though.

Sounds like they are trying to get the most out of the SupCom engine by offering a differently themed RTS built off its core. I wonder how different from DemiGod it will be... but for me I don't think it will matter. My next RTS will likely be StarCraft2, which I expect will sate my RTS yearnings for years to come.
RE: no DS3...
They milked the Siege engine for one too many games (SpaceSiege) and would probably need to build a new engine from scratch, which I don't know they're going to do anytime soon (more efficient for a small development company to focus on one engine at a time).
