GUI Mod |

Anyone have incite to advanced UI modification, I'm finally going to attempt to implement my various ideas into the DSII/BW engine. I've seen various post and articles about how easily it is to add item slots but have not found any examples or implementations for reference. Lara seems to be the only sample and it was a repurpose of existing slots. I will require new ones, holding new items. I'd like to add a number of extras (more rings, more amulets, charms, pentagraphs, more spell books, tiki/voodoo dolls, backpack, bracelets, satchels’, etc) Any assistance would be welcome. forums: |

Disappearing objects |

I'm creating a NIS that involves sawing through a log, but when the camera gets close to it, the log disappears. I've tried adjusting the transparency, turning "blocks camera" on and off, and just about any other setting on the log object that looked possible, but it looks like I need to keep the camera well back during the whole action. Note that this is a templated blocking object, not a node, so camera fade triggers etc. do not apply. Does anyone know how the engine determines what to render? forums: |

BW mod problem |
||
Submitted by ghastley on Thu, 2008-12-04 20:34
I have a mod in progress for BW, but I have a growing problem that I need to solve before it gets too complex. The absence of a BWMOD.exe means that I've had to copy a whole lot of BW standard content into my Bits folder in order to run the mod under DS2MOD.exe, effectively treating the BW material as a user-mod for DS2. But soon I will need to separate the unaltered BW content from the new content so that I can package the mod for beta-testing. Any ideas on how to separate the bits and still be able to test? forums: |

Template help |

Submitted by ghastley on Mon, 2008-05-05 09:38
I wrote up a tutorial recently on making a basic skin for BW, and I was going to follow it up with another that takes the next step and adds a new armor with its own template etc. and mentions a few ways to add things to the game. Everything works smoothly with my example, except that the item level seems to have got lost, as the armor has way less defense than intended. I'm sure it's just a typo in the template, but I can't see it. forums: |

Mods for both DS2 AND BW |
||
Submitted by ghastley on Sat, 2008-04-19 20:43
I'm trying to put together a new Succubus Queen mod for DS2 and BW but it has to contain a number of files that are different between the two. BW adds dwarves, changes the character camera parameters, and so I have about half a dozen files that need to change between them. All the rest will be the same. So would it be better to create two complete ds2res files, or a DS2 version with a BW add-on? Or do I just assume that anyone playing the game these days has BW and can play either game with the BW engine? forums: |
