Windows 8.1 (Need some help)

Hello guys, i've decied to play DS2 and BW once again. But i have Windows 8.1 and it seems like Dungeon Siege hates this OS Laughing out loud
Sometimes game crash to desktop,Sometimes game freezes.
And for some reason "GPU up-scaling" doesnt work and theres big black borders on screen.

Any ideas how to fix this ? Im using "Elys DS2 Succubus Manager" and Aranna Legacy Alpha r3

Is this the same computer you had before, but upgraded to 8.1?
If not could you please provide the configuration. You know the CPU make and model - video card make and model. Note there are several posts about this problem you might wish to check them.

Hello bare_elf Smile I ve found some posts and solved almost everything (It seems like Dungeon Siege hates overlay from Razer Game Booster Laughing out loud )
Then i unclicked compatibility windows xp sp3 (no cursor bug) and now i can play but sometimes game will freeze on loading screen.
Currently im running on

Phenom II x6 1045T 3,2Ghz (OC'ed so it uses all 6 cores instead of 3 Turbo)
HD 7870 2GB Gigabyte Windforce OC Edition
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) RAM
Windows 8.1 Pro

It depends on what sort of Graphic Card you're using. I had the exact same problem with Win 8.1 and a NVidia Card on my laptop and while NVidia fixed the problem for newer games they obviously don't care about older games like DS2. So my only solution was to use the Intel HD on board graphic card and disable the more powerful NVidia card for DS2 (you can do this in the NVidia Control Panel in program settings). Luckily DS2 depends more on the CPU than graphics card so it still runs quite well. If you don't have onboard graphics, then you may be screwed. The sad thing is that Win 8.0 graphic drivers worked well so another potential solution is to use older graphic card drivers, which is inconvenient if you also like playing more modern games.

If you're using a Radeon Card, I have unfortunately no information I can add about them but maybe someone else will.

EDIT> Sorry you posted the updated information just as I posted this. At least it seems Win 8.1 and Radeon works a lot better than with NVidia cards. So down with NVidia if you like playing DS2.

Hello iryan,
I've fixed gpu up-scaling by adding profile for Dungeonsiege2.exe into drivers Smile
Oh then im lucky because i dont have onboard gpu. But it runs quite well (60fps almost everywhere)
