This is a book by Carter Brown, author of many a "cheesy" mystery. So, I'm not really sure what's up with this woman. She may or may not be a corpse, but the real mystery (to me) is why she's grabbing her ass. Is this a sexy pose because it looks wicked uncomfortable to me. Does she feel she needs "support" and "lift" back there because I'm pretty sure you can order buttock supporters on Amazon and really, holding one's ass isn't like the most subtle thing in the world. Yes, a bum supporter may be expensive, but think of all the dignity she'll gain! Don't be a cheapskate, bombshell lady!

Your comment about getting a buttock supporter on Amazon Made me giggle. Why you ask? Here are the reasons.
1. Because of her hair style I would guess she lives in the 1950s (book published 1957), this means there was no on-line of any kind to go to for shopping.
2. Alan Geoffrey Yates "Carter Brown" passed away in May of 1985 nine years before Jeffrey Preston Bezos started Amazon in his Garage.
3. I think the cover artist Barye Phillips was making a sly comment that Allen Geoffrey Yates was a pain in the ass to work for.

The other books, advertisements and comic book are just totally weird so I can not find anything better to say than you did Kathy. I think I know what Tubby is attempting to do and why Lulu looks like she is trying to escape.
